Andrea began practicing massage in 1995 after receiving certification in Massage and Holistic Bodywork in Bristol, England. In Canada, she updated her training at the Sutherland Chan School and Teaching Clinic in Toronto to complete the requirements for registration as an RMT in Ontario. In 2011, she returned to her native Halifax, and now is a Year 2 Osteopathy Student at the College D’Etudes Osteopathiques Halifax campus.
Over her many years as a massage practitioner, Andrea has developed a unique style, while still remaining true to her original holistic training. A special interest in postural alignment and body mechanics drives the focus of Andrea’s treatments as she endeavours to “find the cause, treat the cause”. Her techniques range from the very deep, to the very subtle as she employs both direct deep tissue massage and indirect neuromuscular techniques to support the body in restoring balance; each treatment being unique to the patient and his/her needs and comfort.
Andrea’s additional training includes Cranial Sacral Therapy, Reiki, Muscle Energy Techniques, Joint Mobilization, Perinatal Care. She has been an instructor at both the Sutherland Chan School and Teaching Clinic in Toronto, and the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in Halifax.
